In the Spanish Canary Islands, we shall attend a session of astro-photography to obtain a spectacular photograph of the Milky Way. But the best images of our galaxy are obtained with VISTA, the infrared telescope located in the North of Chile, which we shall visit. In the Amazon region of Brazil, we shall visit an indigenous planetarium and we shall follow the Peabirú road, an ancient indigenous track which simulated the Milky Way. In order to watch it with our bear eyes, we shall visit the first Starlight reserve in South America, located in Fray Jorge, in the North of Chile, which guarantees no light pollution, a problem that also affects animals who are guided by the sky, such as sea turtles, which we shall see in Florida.

Children of the Stars is a voyage through the history of the people of America and their vision of the sky, since the earliest civilizations until the present. In this crossing between the future and the past, this series travels through Latin America to discover the secrets of ancient temples devoted to stars in the Universe and to visit the world’s largest astronomical observatories with their cutting-edge technology, along with outstanding scientists. This trip will show us how the cosmos inspired, and continues to inspire, humanity and the arts.

To know the Universe is to know ourselves. Because the calcium in our bones and the iron in our blood came to us through the explosion of a star, thousands of years ago. Because we are all Sons of the Stars.
