The legendary Mew Glitch, the original way. Part 2 will be a method that will allow you to capture Mew very early in the game. Part 3 will be even better.
1) Make sure you have a Pokemon with Fly, and make sure you haven't battled the trainers mentioned in the video.
2) Stand at the entrance of the Underground Path and SAVE.
3) Ok, now for the hard part. Take one step down. As you are walking, tap the Start button rapidly. If you did it correctly, the menu should pop up and the Gambler should be on screen. If the Gambler sees you, simply reset the gaem and try again.
4) Fly to Cerulean City. The Gambler will get a "!" over his head, but you'll leave anyway.
5) Make your way to the Youngster on Route 25 with the Slowpoke. You can battle other Trainers on the way, but the Youngster MUST be the last one you battled.
6) Make sure the Youngster WALKS UP TO YOU. Otherwise your game will freeze. Battle and defeat him.
7) Fly to Lavender Town.
8) Walk to the West route. The Start menu should automatically pop up.
9) Close the menu. A battle should begin.
10) Catch your Mew! It will be at Lv. 7, so be prepared.
If you happen to have already defeated the Gambler, there are several of Trainers that will work. As long as they spot you as soon as they appear on screen, it will work. For example, the Super Nerd right next to the Gambler will work fine, also.
