Every player is attempting to outsmart their opponent and make them believe their going to do one thing while doing another. In order to hit a buzzer beater or a game winner, Deception is basically the game . But THATS NOT WHAT THE REFS SHOULD DO. The referees are often criticized, but they strive for ultimate precision and supreme fairness. They want consistency in their calls, more than anything on the court. So then why, why out of all the elements in basketball, why does time get some of the most subjective treatment of all.
