We introduce the Six Syllable Mantra 六字大明咒 as the foundational entry point for Asian folk magic traditions while explaining its scriptural origins, doctrinal Buddhist foundations, association with Kuan Yin (Avalokitesvara), and how the practice spread across Asia through esoteric Buddhism. We’ll also address its functions in magical practice.
There’s also a recommended practicum for you to try out.
From a pan-Asian perspective, I wanted to present the Mantra as a common ground we share across many otherwise very different traditions.
