2 Left Thumbs | The making of Newgrounds Snowboarding (development process vlogs) @2leftthumbs | Uploaded May 2022 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
Newgrounds Snowboarding is a game I first conceived of back in 2010. I had done some early work on it then, but it was fairly quickly shelved. I had it in the back of my mind for a decade, always wanting to see it through!
A little over a year ago I found some talented individuals to work with (MSGHero, and CarpetBakery) to help finish this project off!
Play it for yourself ► newgrounds.com/portal/view/792154
Development went through 100 iterations filled with highs and lows, tweaking things, compromising, throwing it chunks of work, and constantly moving our own self-imposed goalposts.
The path development took actually made me SO happy that we documented what went into making all of this! It's simultaneously nowhere near what I originally had in mind, yet is also everything I could have wanted it to be :)
I hope that this compilation of dev logs, leading up to release 1 year ago teaches you a little something about what goes into making seemingly simplistic browser games!
