Metroid: Other M has been vilified by fans and critics alike for its baffling story and design decisions for years, hailed as the game that killed the Metroid franchise. And those fans are right - thanks to Other M's poor critical and sales performance, the Metroid series went dormant for years, and hasn't come close to recovering. However, Other M is more than just "the worst Metroid game," more than a character assassination of gaming's first female protagonist. Other M's development tells tale of one man's obsessive aspirations; of a director who was dragged into a franchise he never wished to work on, for which he later became an adoptive father; of a team that wished to push the boundaries as a cinematic experience. This Metroid: Other M retrospective will tell the tale of the failed game's development, through the eyes of those behind it, thanks to in-depth developer interviews from both before and since Other M's ill-fated release.
