In this video, I explore the evidence for the claim that the hearts of Elizabeth I and Mary I were discovered in a vault in Westminster Abbey in 1670. I argue that this is most unlikely and I provide instead a short introduction to early modern embalming techniques and the evidence of where the hearts and entrails of the two queens are really laid.
