Chapter 3 of “The Lore of Metroid” explores one of the darkest and most tragic chapters in Metroid history, the fall of the Chozo on Tallon IV and the desperate struggle of the Luminoth against the Ing.
Set between the events of Metroid Zero MIssion and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, this chapter follows Samus Aran as she answers a distress signal from a distant world caught between dimensions.

Using lore from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime Hunters and official supplemental material, this video examines Samus' beginning battle against Phazon and the origin of Metroid Prime. It also highlights Samus’s conflict with Gorea and the first Introduction of the mysterious Bounty Hunter Sylux.

This chapter provides a detailed look at the Light of Aether, U-Mos and the Luminoth, the Ing invasion, the atmospheric collapse, and the creation of the Light and Dark Worlds. It also explores the presence of Dark Samus and how the echoes of Aether’s tragedy foreshadow the events of Metroid Prime 3.

“The Lore of Metroid” is a multi-part documentary series that tells the story of the Metroid universe as clearly and faithfully as possible. Each chapter combines the games, official lore, and additional material into one continuous narrative.

This video includes analysis of Aether’s downfall, the Luminoth’s resistance, the origins of Dark Aether, and the wider implications this conflict has on the galaxy and Samus Aran’s journey.
