The Lone Ranger atop his beloved horse, Silver, is headed to gold country. Jerry, a young prospector has returned to Virginia City from Lookout Hill where he has staked out his claim, but he lacks the capital to get a water source up to high elevation to wash out the ore. Meanwhile, his fiancée would like Jerry to just work in the creeks and make an honest day’s pay like the other prospectors, but Jerry is persistent. At his beau’s suggestion he asks the Lone Ranger for advice. The Lone Ranger suggests Jerry contact a Carl Miller, a somewhat unscrupulous investor, whom the masked crusader would like to entrap.
