Twenty years later, after everything that has happened, the lesson still works.
So do the tools.
Not because life got easier.
Not because grief stopped showing up.
Not because fear, sadness, resistance, or old memories never creep in.
They do.
That’s human.
But the lesson from Heart Lessons was never about avoiding hard things. It was about learning how to listen, how to respond, how to stay the course, how to grieve, how to forgive, and how to keep following your heart when life does not follow the plan you thought you had.
This final July Heart Lessons video is a reflection on what this month has stirred up, what revisiting the story of my heart failure reminded me, and why healing does not mean nothing ever hurts again.
Healing means I have tools now.
And I use them.
In this video, I talk about HeartMath, cognitive behavioral therapy, neuroscience, writing, walking Kismet, the Badass Soundtrack, Kelly Orchard’s Apple A Day, Licensed2BBadass, and how the work we do can become part of the healing.
Heart Lessons led to Apple A Day.
Apple A Day led to Licensed2BBadass.
Licensed2BBadass became a framework for the tools I use and teach.
None of that replaces Heart Lessons.
It proves the lesson kept growing.
