The courageous Japanese American women who served during WWII in the Women’s Army Corps, Army Nurse Corps and Cadet Nurse Corps faced racial and gender discrimination but volunteered because they wanted to help in ending the war. For many, their brothers were already serving in the Army and/or their families were incarcerated in camps.
