Shoichi "George" Asahina was a Medical Officer attached to the 442nd RCT and provided primary medical care to the men of the squadron. George was part of the Christmas-time Battle of the Bulge, the last major offensive attempted by the Axis powers on the Western front. As he gave medical care to his fellow soldiers, he remembers his time in St. Vith most vividly, and recalls the Christmas dinner that was brought to the front lines despite the bitter cold, and fighting. "When Christmas came around somehow or another they got a Christmas dinner up to us. Turkey and the works. I don't know they did it but they did."
