Five Nights at Treasure Island has been through developmental hell and back.
It initially started as a small scale FNAF fangame by a lone RPGMaker developer, however it has since grown into a phenomenon. Almost managing the same influence as its inspiration, Five Nights at Freddy's, and growing to similar heights, FNATI is a very important fan-game, and has made a return recently with the release of the official final version of the game, developed by Radiance Team.
In this video essay, I will be diving into the full history and story of Five Nights at Treasure Island, and talking about the mark it left, starting at the creepypasta that inspired it and ending off with the release of the 2020 game.
This is my first time properly doing a video essay of this nature, and I've learned a lot from it. I'll be doing a lot more videos like this one, so stay tuned for them. I think they'll be very enjoyable to make, and hopefully, to watch as well, for all of you guys.
Special thanks to Nocturna of Radiance Team, for providing information on some of the unknowns of Treasure Island's development. I wasn't able to find much information on the internet, and the information Nocturna gave me allowed me to even finish this video in the first place.
