This movie contains spoilers for The Last of Us's story. Make sure you've seen that before watching this, or you'll spoil a few major scenes.

I was originally planning to make this movie shortly after the DLC came out in February, but I was working on my Beyond Two Souls movie, and shortly after that was finished and released, TLOU Remastered was announced, so I decided to just wait and do my Left Behind movie using The Last of Us Remastered, so that it could be 1080p and have improved graphics.

I try to make my movies in a way that will appeal to both gamers and non gamers alike. Whether you've played the game or not, you should be able to watch my movie and understand and enjoy the story just as if you were watching a hollywood film. For most of my movies, I tend to focus on the cutscenes and limit the gameplay to only that which is essential to understanding the story and maintaining a good flow, but with Left Behind, nearly the entire game is important, because very little of it is traditional "video game" gameplay. Most of what I cut was during the final battle scene, where I died a lot.

Normally I have to try to remove elements that I refer to as "game indicators". These are things that appear on screen that make it obvious you're watching a game rather than a movie. Usually this requires me doing a lot of editing and visual effects to accomplish this, but thankfully The Last of Us Remastered had options to disable the HUD and aiming reticle, which eliminated 90% of these things. I still had about 30 effects shots to do, but that's pretty small compared to some of my other movies. There are one or two things I was unable to remove, but I got rid of most of it. I must say though, disabling the aiming reticle made shooting nearly impossible.

A lot of people have been asking whether I will remake my TLOU movie using the Remastered edition, and as of right now, I'm not planning on it. I do like the potential benefits the higher resolution, improved graphics, and HUD settings would give me, but for now, I'd prefer to focus on making more new movies rather than remaking older ones. 720p still looks fine for TLOU. If I ever have free time and no other movie plans, I may consider doing TLOU remastered, like I did with the Uncharted series, but for now, it's not in the plans.
