The story of the game Marvel's Spider-man 2, edited into a movie. This movie is optimized to look best on an HDR capable display, but has been custom graded to look great on any kind of screen. I also recommend watching on a surround sound system if you have one.
If you're not familiar with my work, I try to take these game stories and cut them down into a format that can be enjoyed by anybody, whether they play games or not. For those who haven't played the game, they are able to experience a story they may not otherwise had been able to see, and for those who have played the game, I find that watching it in this more compact format allows you to appreciate the story better, as much more of it stays fresh in your mind by the time the story is over, and there is no unnecessary filler to distract you either.
These aren't just cutscene compilations as you may see elsewhere, but I try to bring this as close to a proper movie viewing experience as possible. Gameplay is necessary to get a full picture of the story, but I try to streamline it as best as possible so that I'm only including the gameplay that is absolutely necessary to understand and enjoy the story without creating plot holes. In this case, I have also cut some "main story" missions if I felt they weren't important to the main plot. Some of these missions for example were mostly just setting up side mission types, and didn't have any real importance to the main story. There is one in particular some people will miss more than the others, but it was needed as the gameplay just would have felt awkward in movie format, and again, the mission didn't really do much for the story. That being said, despite all that was cut, the story still ended up being over 6.5 hours long!
Normally I also use extensive VFX to remove the HUD and any other button prompts or text that would be distracting for the player. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do this on the previous two Spider-man games as there was just too much on screen all the time, but in this game thankfully the game provided an option to turn everything off. The main mission marker does still appear briefly sometimes but that was beyond my control. I did use a few VFX to remove some other things that appeared, but it didn't require too much.

![Marvels Spider-man (The Movie) [HDR Version]
Initially I had issues getting HDR to work, but after a lengthy session with Youtubes Creator Support, it is finally working! Enjoy :)
If this video doesnt look right for you, try the SDR version here:

Insomniacs critically acclaimed 2018 game, Marvels Spider-man, edited into a movie. Stay tuned during the credits for a special treat (but this is a Marvel movie so you knew that)
If youre unfamiliar with what I do, my goal is to try to translate the story of the games I like into movie format, making them enjoyable whether you have played the game or not, or even if you dont play video games at all. There are plenty of great stories out there that a lot of people wont see because they dont play video games, and I hope to make these movies in a way where anybody can fully understand and enjoy.
But even if you do play games, these movies offer an experience that can change the way you view the story as well. When playing the game, youll likely be splitting the story up into several different play sessions, so you probably wont remember all of the details of the story from start to end. While this movie may be too long for a single sitting for some people, its still likely to keep the story fresher in your mind than when playing the game. I always notice new things when working on and watching my movies.
Unlike some channels, I dont just slap together all of the cutscenes and call it a day. Doing that simply wouldnt give you the full story, and this isnt just a compilation of scenes, its a full movie. I include whatever gameplay I feel is necessary to tell the story, and do it in a way thats enjoyable. I will cut down wherever I can, but I wont cut down so much as to cause plot holes or confusion for the viewer, and I try to make sure my cuts maintain a good pacing as well.
Normally I usually also go the extra mile and try to remove on screen HUD elements, whether via game settings, editing, mods, or VFX. While there were a few settings which minimized the number of on screen elements visible in this game, there were still a LOT left over, and unfortunately the frequency, placement, and nature of the button prompts and other HUD elements simply made it impossible to remove. While there were a few small things I did here and there, most of the HUD remains intact in this one. Some suggested using letterbox to hide them, but I tried this too and it simply did not work. Things pop up all over the screen, the HUD moves around, and doing so would also eliminate verticality and block out spider-man a lot of the time. It just wouldnt be a good solution. So unfortunately I wasnt able to remove the HUD this time, but hopefully developers will offer more options in the future to make this more doable. I love the customizeability of Horizon Zero Dawn for example, or the full out No HUD mode in Uncharted 4 (hoping for the same in TLOU2)
Thank you for watching, and make sure to subscribe if you want to know when I upload more movies. If you want to support me further, I also have a Patreon as I mentioned earlier:

Every supporter gets access to near daily updates during the production of the movie, with estimates for movie length and release date given with every update. I also have higher tiers that allow for downloading the full quality versions of my movies, HDR downloads, and even early access to an earlier cut of my movies while Im still working on them.

*Will you make [some game] into a movie?*
I might! Or I might not. It totally depends on what I think of that games story and cinematic presentation. The only way Im going to be able to let you know is if Ive played the game. This channel certainly takes up a lot of my time, so I have a limited number of games I can play in a year, so ask, and be patient 😀 Andy plays The Last of Us: Left Behind](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/rryZX8Zqrdg/mqdefault.jpg)
