Ilina Sinhas talk explores the vital role of preserving endangered languages through her personal connection with Bishnupriya Manipuri, a language recognized by UNESCO as endangered. Ilina Sinha writes poetry in English and Bishnupriya Manipuri (a language recognised by UNESCO as endangered). In 2022, she was invited by Sahitya Akademi, Indias National Academy of Letters to represent the endangered language on World Mother Tongue Day. She has also represented the language and poetry on various platforms like Indian Film Project, PoemsIndia, Delhi Poetry Slam, UnErase poetry etc and has collaborated on various art projects with artists of diverse backgrounds. At present, she is a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Guwahati. Prior to this, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Girijananda Chowdhury University, Assam and in the industry as an Artificial Intelligence Engineer at IQVIA, India.
