In Revelation chapter 13, we read of a book called the "Lamb's book of Life." We are told in this chapter that those who worship the beast and take his mark in their right hand or forehead are those who dwell upon the Earth whose name is not written in this book. In Revelation chapter 21, we are told that those who enter the Holy City New Jerusalem are those whose name is written in this book. Scripture reveals the sobering reality that those who are not written in this book before the rapture takes place will be left behind on earth to suffer the horrors of the Tribulation period. We also learn that those left behind will get an opportunity for their names to be written in this book during the Tribulation period in order to avoid eternal damnation. It is a sobering fact that Jesus himself warned that only those who are "born again" will avoid eternal damnation and enter Heaven.
