In previous JULIA airbrush system videos, I focused on the airbrush (aka, the gun) itself, both its features/benefits and how to clean it. (That latter is incredibly easy, BTW!) In this video, I turn to the JULIA compressor, the workhorse of the JULIA system in that it’s what supplies air to the airbrush. I first review the components of the JULIA system, and then delve further into (1) the JULIA compressor/hose features and benefits, (2) how to connect the JULIA airbrush to the JULIA compressor and others, and, most importantly, (3) how to regulate air flow with this system. Though there is no pressure gauge on the compressor itself, air flow is fully variable and easily controlled through the inline flow regulator (aka precision air control valve) on the hose.

AIR FLOW CONTROL WITH THE JULIA SYSTEM - QUICK TIPS:
(A) For regular colorings: (1) Turn the inline air flow regulator counterclockwise about one-quarter of a full dial rotation from the closed position until you get a nice, even spray with no speckling; (2) pull back on the airbrush trigger minimally for close-range detail work, or more for broad coverage.
(B) For metallic colorings: (1) Turn the inline air flow regulator counterclockwise about one-third to two-thirds of a full dial rotation from the closed position, depending on the exact medium (thicker metallics benefit from the valve being more open; i.e., the dial being rotated further); (2) pull back on the airbrush trigger about halfway or more, depending on your medium and distance from your work surface.
