Sukkot comes straight after Yom Kippur. From awe to joy.
We move from the solemnity of life in the balance to Zman Simchateinu, the time of our joy.
But the paradox of Sukkot is that it’s also a time of vulnerability. The sukkah is a temporary dwelling, exposed to wind, rain, and uncertainty. Yet we find joy in that vulnerability.
In this Sukkot reflection, Chief Rabbi Dr Warren Goldstein explores how we can embrace vulnerability, live with faith, and find joy in life’s impermanence.
Key themes:
– The joy of Sukkot
– Finding joy in vulnerability
– Zman Simchateinu: the time of our joy
– Faith and fragility in Jewish life
– The meaning of the sukkah
✡️ Chag Sameach — may this Sukkot bring joy, peace, and blessing.
