As someone who shares the same birthday as the great J.R.R. Tolkien, the tales of Middle-Earth have been something I have adored for the longest time. January 3rd is not only a time to celebrate the time of my own birth, but the birth of a legend. When the 2001 - 2003 Peter Jackson film adaptations hit theaters worldwide, I found myself almost lost in the world of hobbits, elves, orcs, and wizards. It was truly something I cherished. I thought that our journey to Middle-Earth ended with "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" but 10 years later, Peter Jackson embarked on another journey to bring us back to Middle-Earth with "The Hobbit Trilogy". I was ecstatic with the news and attended the HFR midnight premiere of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and fell in love with this new journey with Bilbo Baggins. Now that Denny's has announced this fan film contest, I knew this was my calling and created this short film of the One Ring and its journey across the landscapes of Middle Earth, which were shot at the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador and in Central Park, New York. As an amateur filmmaker, this was a very important project for me and put all my heart and soul into the story of the great yet dangerous ring.
