This video is a play-through of the bassline from 'I Want You Back', a 1969 hit for The Jackson 5. This popular song has fantastic bassline, which was performed by Crusaders saxophonist/bassist Wilton Felder.

I recorded this line using a Fender Custom Shop '67 Precision bass strung with roundwound strings. The tone control was rolled off about halfway. The bass was recorded via a SansAmp Bass Driver DI, all controls set flat. A small amount of compression was added digitally.
