The issue with looking at Kelvin Kiptum's foot strike pattern when he ran one of the fastest marathons ever.
One BIG misconception about foot strike pattern is that...
people think it is a constant factor.
For example, if you land closer to heel during a particular run, you are dubbed a heel striker.
This assumes you ALWAYS land like that.
However, how you land NATURALLY changes.
This is influenced by things like pace, shoes, terrain and fatigue.
The clip where we looked at footstrike pattern occured toward the very end of the marathon.
When you are pushing your body and mind to its limits, it is common to see fluctuations in running style.
He can see the differences of how Kelvin Kiptum runs during different parts of the marathon.
So ditch the idea of having to stick to one particular way to land.
As the saying goes..."If the only tool you have is a hammer, you will start treating all your problems like a nail."
