Running involves high amounts of force.
Vertical ground reaction forces as you run can be around 2-3x body weight. (๐Yu et al. 2021)
And as you run faster, it will be even higher.
Musculotendinous forces recorded from the calf region (specifically the soleus) as you run can be around 6-8x body weight. (๐Dorn et al. 2012)
The point here is to appreciate the high capacity demands of running.
Running involves much more than your aerobic fitness.
You also need to consider taking care of your own body and that it is prepared to handle the demands of the type of training and races you are working toward.
