StoryDive | The Insane Real Duels Behind Ridley Scott's "The Duellists" (1977) @StoryDive | Uploaded August 2020 | Updated October 2024, 19 minutes ago.
Ridley Scott's debut feature "The Duellists" (1977) is one of his most underrated films. It deserves mention alongside his later historical epic, Gladiator (2000). Scott based "The Duellists" on a Joseph Conrad short story which in turn was based on true historical events. In this video, I will break down those events and the bizarre relationship of the real "d'Hubert " and "Feraud", who were in truth named Pierre Dupont and François Fournier-Sarlovèze.
