The being appeared humanoid, with a large head, long arms, and an unnatural movement across the moorland. Spencer raised his camera and took what has become one of Britain’s most discussed alleged alien photographs. Moments later, beyond the place where the figure vanished, he saw a saucer-like UFO rising from the hillside into the grey Yorkshire sky. Only afterwards did the encounter become even stranger, when Spencer realised that part of the morning appeared to be missing.
