๐Ÿ“š The hydrogen atom is the simplest and most abundant of all elements. In this video, we study a range of properties of the ground state of the hydrogen atom. We explore the energy necessary to dissociate the proton and electron in hydrogen, called the ionization energy; the typical size of a hydrogen atom, called the Bohr radius; and the relative contribution of kinetic and potential energies in hydrogen, which we relate to the virial theorem.
