The New Vegas strip is a small piece of Pre-War splendour and is the result of one man’s efforts. Robert House. Robert was aware of the inevitable great war and made preparations to ensure the city survived. The most important preparation being the platinum chip - a dense storage device containing software updates for the lucky 38’s systems and a MK 2 update for the army of Securitrons stored beneath fortification hill - though the chips specialized design would only work with Houses own technology. A curse in the long run, seeing as how The Great War started while the chip was just about finished and wasn’t able to be delivered on time, leaving house to work with outdated software.
