The idea of a God-given objective set of morals may seem reassuring as typically sold to us but it hides a sinister truth: that by asserting morality as a set of immutible facts, set apart from our own moral thinking, then any scenario (even one as horrific to our sensibilities as the thumbnail) are immune to our objections. Our abhorrence counts for absolutely nothing!
So it is that I respond to the Christian apologist SJ Thomason and so it is that I throw back the well trodden example of the Nazi's and propose that rather than this causing a problem for the atheist and the subjectivist, rather it is more of a problem for those who claim moral objectivity can be based on the purported historical actions of their God.
