Cadets, staff, and faculty came together to celebrate Senator Elizabeth Dole, this year's Sylvanus Thayer Award recipient.

This prestigious accolade pays tribute to the enduring legacy of Sylvanus Thayer, the academy's fifth superintendent, and honors individuals who, despite not graduating from West Point, embody the timeless motto, "Duty, Honor, Country," through their dedicated service to our nation.

The celebrations continued with a banquet at the Cadet Mess Hall!   It was a historic moment as Elizabeth received the Thayer Award, making her and her husband, Senator Bob Dole, the first married couple to receive their respective Awards, with Bob receiving it in 2004.

A heartfelt thank you to Senator Dole for an incredible 60 years of selfless service to our soldiers and our beloved nation!
