West Point was honored to welcome four Medal of Honor recipients to the Academy as part of the Valor Tour, an initiative honoring recipients of the nation’s highest military decoration for valor in combat.
Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady, Spc. 4 Kenneth David, Col. Walter Joseph “Joe” Marm Jr. and Command Sgt. Maj. Terry Richardson — all U.S. Army veterans of the Vietnam War — visited West Point Sept. 1, engaging with cadets and sharing experiences and lessons in leadership shaped by their service.
During their visit, the recipients also joined the West Point community to welcome the Steel Across America National Tour as it carries a piece of World Trade Center steel across the country to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
Together, the day served as a reminder of generations of Americans who have answered the call to serve—and the next generation preparing to carry that legacy forward.
