Robert Brewer survived the HMT Rohna attack. The disaster remains the largest loss of life at sea in the history of US war. One of the first radio-guided missiles ever used in WWII sank the Rohna killing over 1100 soldiers and crew. It was classified, forgotten and left out of the history books.
