This is an interview with WWII Veteran Luke McLaurine who served as a Bombadier aboard a B-24 plane. He served in the 15th United States Air Force which was based in Italy. He flew several harrowing missions over occupied Europe before he had the jump out of the plane due to mechanical problems. This resulted in his capture and he was a Prisoner of War of the Germans until he was liberated in the spring of 1945. He talks about the missions in great detail in the episode and also about solitary confinement as a POW. He also describe the pain of real hunger.
