Macintosh Librarian Episode 4:

Maccy and Ms. Fox talk about Glypha, a late 80s and early 90s clone of the famous Midway Joust arcade machine. Glypha is one of my favorite games for the Macintosh.

Glypha was created by John Calhoun of the Soft Dorothy Software Company.
It was playable on the original black and white Apple Macintosh computers with System 6 and above.

In this video, we discuss the Glypha versions that I grew up with - Glypha 3.0 (Black and white) and Glypha III (Color) for the Macintosh. I know that I skipped Glypha 1.x and 2.x and Glypha II, in my experience 3.0 and III were the most popular Glypha versions, at least in my circle of friends growing up.

P.S. - In looking through the source code for Glypha III, I noticed that John Calhoun has named the enemies "Owl" "Wolf" and "Jackal". These aren't mentioned anywhere in the compiled game - so I wasn't aware of this until I was digging through the source code trying to figure out how to make the Evil Eye show up. P.P.S - To get the Evil eye to show up, you have to remain on a level for (numOwls + 2) * 720 frames (code in enemies.c)
