This beautiful song was written by Ted Harris. It was recorded by the great Glen Campbell (possibly as a duet with the great Steve Wariner). I made this video after listening to the song twice on Charlie's Live in Holland CD, and I got a couple of lines wrong in the verses. I had a better take of the song in terms of my singing, but unfortunately, the Zoom camera let me down again by failing to save the video to the SD card. I really don't know how much it would have mattered, however, because the automatic gain control or compression of YouTube squashed the chorus in this song (especially the first chorus) so that it essentially gutted or neutralized the overall performance quality. Below are links to a couple of other great Louvin Brothers songs that pay tribute to the immeasurable importance and value of a mother's love. The first one is a recent cover by the Zola Brothers.
