Horses played a vital role in medieval society. From the destrier, the best-known war horse which carried the armoured knight into battle, to the humble farm worker known as the affer or stott which pulled the plough. Today we continue our day in the life series and take a look at how we imagined a horse who we have named Gringalet, bravely fought for King Edward I against the Scots at the Battle of Falkirk.
