During the Middle Ages there were thousands of beggars trying to survive across Europe. Among their numbers were hundreds of āprofessional paupersā who would use elaborate methods to garner sympathy and deceive the unsuspecting Medievals into donating their hard-earned coins. Letās travel back in time to the Middle Ages where we meet Mendicants, Klenkners and Clapper Dudgeons.
