Is it common to foreigners to get scammed in Mexico?
I've heard a lot of foreigners living in Mexico say they are getting scammed paying higher prices when they buy products or services when they're travelling in Mexico just because they're foreigners or they don't speak the language well. This phenomenon is called: Gringo tax or gringo price.

Gringo tax or gringo price is the amount ADDED to the real cost of the product or service if you are a foreigner travelling in Mexico or Latinamerica. (not just gringo). A foreigner living in Mexico could be paying a higher price to services and products when the prices are not usually displayed so the street vendors can raise the prices to foreigners. Some foreigners living in Mexico say they're getting scammed in Mexico and I wondered if the reason was because of the gringo tax or gringo price.

I wanted to put it to the test. I contacted a foreigner who arrived in Mexico a few weeks ago and we went on a challenge. We wanted to see if the Gringo tax is applied to him on basic services and products. Was Jason Eke scammed? Does the gringo tax exist? Find out on this video.

Special thanks to Jason Eke for the interview. Check out his channel:
