Eleven foot tides and Yellow Flies! Storms and shoals. Long days and questionable equipment. And yet, somehow, these are the days that I'll remember fondly forever. Strange. Isn't it? I'll also remember that these days made me a better captain. These days helped me have faith in my own skills. They taught me to drive my own boat.
It may not be that clear to you what trips like this did for me, but I know it was a big step (many happened already, many were still to come) that shaped my Great Loop journey.
