Leaked documents place fallen angels living in Antarctica, beneath ice that hides a war the US government never admitted losing. In 1946 the Navy sent 4,700 men and 13 warships south under the name Operation High Jump and called it exploration. Admiral Richard Byrd, the most decorated admiral in American history, led that fleet and came back a different man. His secret diary describes flying past the ice into a green valley with waterfalls and a living woolly mammoth, then losing control of his plane to craft that escorted him to an entity calling itself the master. Secretary of Defense James Forrestal kept his own private record of what really happened and died falling from a Bethesda hospital window before he could tell the public.
