3 and a half years later, I've finally put The Golden behind me.
Truthfully, I can't believe I'm uploading this video. I really never thought I could finish this level. It always felt like too mentally daunting of a task and even the thought of playing it made me feel uneasy. After coming back to it and dropping it many times, I finally decided to put it under my belt once and for all.
Initially, in 2020, I dropped the level because I simply couldn't get consistent at the first ship and first wave. I tried to pick it back up in 2022 and had the same issues. Last year, in 2023, I fixed my consistency with the first ship, so there was a glimmer of hope, but I still couldn't overcome the first wave, so I dropped it again (also due to schoolwork getting in the way). This happened twice during that year. About two weeks ago, I came back to the level once more and finally fixed my consistency with the first wave, and from there, I didn't look back. I rode the momentum and motivation all the way to victory, and it was extremely rewarding.
The final push was definitely draining on my mentality, but not enough to keep me from beating the level. This was probably the strongest my mentality has ever been while playing this game and I owe so much of it to not only my constant progress but to the neverending support from everyone who cheered me on while I streamed the level and posted the aforementioned progress. I really cannot thank you all enough for that.
For those that are wondering, I do think this is ever-so-slightly harder than Tartarus which makes this my 2nd hardest demon, behind Edge of Destiny.
With this completion, I have completed every Extreme Demon I've made substantial progress on for the first time since July 2019, 4 and a half years ago.
