Dragon Ball fans do NOT read their own series and it clearly shows if you just agreed with that ironic statement I made. Gohan's power and writing are both two factors of the character that people misinterpret all the time, and so for that reason i decided to come on here and clear the fraud allegations for GOAThan as not only has he had his lows but he's also had his very high highs that a lot of fans like to dismiss. So with that being said, let's talk about Gohan. His story starts off during the battle with Raditz, where we see him in a burst of rage stagger Raditz with power that even surpassed his own father. Keep in mind we just spent an entire series before this following his fathers power progression and him claiming his spot as the strongest man. Only for his son to take this spot from him at age 4. Anywho, with the death of his father, this forced his arch nemesis Piccolo to now train Gohan in hopes of defeating the saiyans. This leads into the young boy who clearly didn't want to fight in the first place now be put in a crazy scenario. Despite this, Gohan learns how to survive on his own and even befriends Piccolo who funny enough is at a similar age to Gohan himself. Gohan even despite being put through all that training saw the best in Piccolo, just like how Goku always did the same in others. When the saiyans arrive, unfortunately for Gohan his lack of confidence Saving Dende from Dodoria, stepping up to Guldo and Recoome and even Ginyu in his fathers body, and eventually he’d fight none other than the Emperor himself. Frieza would stab Krillin, leading into Gohan getting an insane rageboost that allowed him to press Frieza in both his second. Now after this we’d get Gohan's arguably best arc yet, and that's him being passed down the mantle of earth's protector in the Cell Saga. You see Cell is someone who's a combination of every threat that Gohan has faced, a long with the z fighters and himself. Which is why seeing Cell beating Gohan is so frustrating, just because we see Gohan all the way through not wanting to kill him until he finally kills 16. After a life is taken, Gohan decides to let go of the rage he's been holding back for the entire series, and finally attain Super Saiyan 2. Everyone already knows this moment is peak, him saucing on the cell jrs and Cell twice makes everything all the more satisfying, even though his arrogance is what got Goku ultimately killed, HE STILL WON ITS OKAY. With this, Gohan's story in the anime would end BUT we got luckily more content that continues his story. While in the anime we get a very developed gohan, in the manga gohan just kinda locks in for the tournament offscreen and draws with Kefla Don't really care too much about his story here so we can talk about the moro arc which LUCKILY has gohan having so much aura. He’d arrive to aid Piccolo in stopping Moros invasion, with him being confirmed the strongest on earth. With this, he and piccolo try their best against Moros strongest soldier, and thanks to him+ the other locking in, they stall long enough for Goku to arrive this time, in contrast to in Ressurection of F. The series follows the adventures of protagonist Son Goku from his childhood through adulthood as he trains in martial arts. He spends his childhood far from civilization until he meets a teen girl named Bulma, who encourages him to join her quest in exploring the world in search of the seven orbs known as the Dragon Balls, which summon a wish-granting dragon when gathered. Along his journey, Goku makes several other friends, becomes a family man, discovers his alien heritage, and battles a wide variety of villains, many of whom also seek the Dragon Balls. Toriyama's manga was adapted and divided into two anime series produced by Toei Animation: Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, which together were broadcast in Japan from 1986 to 1996. Additionally, the studio has developed 21 animated feature films and three television specials, as well as an anime sequel series titled Dragon Ball GT (1996–1997) and an anime midquel series titled Dragon Ball Super (2015–2018). From 2009 to 2015, a revised version of Dragon Ball Z aired in Japan under the title Dragon Ball Kai, as a recut that follows the manga's story more faithfully by removing most of the material featured exclusively in the anime. Several companies have developed various types of merchandise based on the series leading to a large media franchise that includes films (both animated and live-action), collectible trading card games, action figures, collections of soundtracks, and numerous video games. Dragon Ball has become one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time.
