The Global #Climate Crimes Project seeks to bring the people who are most responsible for the pollution and destruction of life on our planet to justice at the #InternationalCriminalCourt for their crimes against humanity. Millions die every year from pollution, millions more will perish in the coming years, as climate change worsens, due to the actions of these people.
Exxon, BP and others have tried to shift the blame on to consumers for our “carbon footprint”, a term they created. Industrial Agriculture presents the illusion that they are feeding the world, while destroying forests and wasting resources to feed cattle. Politicians accept millions in donations from coal, oil and gas companies, then provide billions in subsidies, while Chase and other big banks fund fossil fuel expansion.
Assembling activists from all over the world to determine who should be prosecuted, as well as scientists to give testimony, the GCCP will provide local groups with documents that can be utilized to launch multiple complaints with the ICC. John Hagar and Jonathan Logan from #xramerica talk with Dr. Peter Carter and Dale Walkonen about changing what is politically and socially acceptable to the mainstream, the Overton Window, to include serious, immediate action on climate change.
