Re:Zero fans have been on edge ever since the studio was acquired by a rival publisher, with many worrying that future seasons might be cancelled. Those fears may finally be easing, as Kadokawa has announced ten major projects to celebrate Re:Zero’s 10-year anniversary. This has sparked heavy speculation about what’s coming next, including the strong possibility of a Re:Zero Season 5 and potential anime adaptations of the EX novels or other side stories. Some of these spin-offs may even be produced by studios outside of White Fox, possibly to expand production within the Re:Zero universe.

However, expectations should be tempered. The first so-called major project is simply a livestream that will reveal more information about Re:Zero Season 4 and the remaining anniversary projects. This follows a chain of announcement-after-announcement that began on December 27 and continued into January, leaving fans frustrated with the lack of concrete reveals so far. While there’s concern that some of these projects could end up being merch, figures, gacha games, or more livestreams, there’s still hope that at least one or two of the anniversary projects will be something truly exciting for Re:Zero anime fans.
