OK,this boss definitely tested me! He straight up brick walled me for 2 days! I played around with the build a lot, realocated stats and skill points. Nothing was working. Which meant it was simply time to git gud. I learned a few things though, so hopefully, this can help you.
First up, in phase one, right at the start, you can force his counter attack, which you can then burst counter, which makes the first phase a breeze if you can get the timing down. He'll open with two jumping vertical sashes. After the second, you can hit him with a full combo, then start another, but don't do the whole combo. After two attacks or so (on spear at least), he'll counter. So you need to time your counter after those two attacks. It can be tricky to time, but it really does make the first phase much easier, and you can practice it because it's right at the start of the fight.
In the second phase, you really just need to learn the moves. There's no secret cheese that I've found. but I did learn a couple of goodies that can help.
First, the circular teleport slash he does is easy enough to dodge, but if you can parry it, it will stagger him for a short punish window.
The other thing I found to help is the timing for his big combo. It's after he splashes a wall of mud up across the arena momentarily. It's One attack, then a 6 hit combo, followed by two slower attacks. However, you can range the whole combo out. if you're too far away, he'll do the teleport attack to close the gap instead, so you can parry for a little damage and avoid the whole combo instead.
