Up for debate is how Hong Kong’s next Chief Executive will be elected. Those opposed to the plan call it a fake democratic process and that’s today’s conversation taking place in Asia… now.
Unless you were hiding under a rock between October and Christmas, you know all about the Umbrella Revolution and the Occupy Central movement in Hong Kong which was born out of a desire to have true universal suffrage.
Now a plan is before Hong Kong’s Legislative body for approval, but Pro-democracy legislatures are vowing to block the measure. Joining me this week on the podcast is Emily Lau chairperson of the Democratic Party to discuss what lays ahead.
