✔️Shirley Winters killed at least four of her own children over three decades—and got away with it until 2007. She burned houses, smothered her infant son, and drowned a toddler while investigators in three different counties never connected the dots.
In 1979, her two children died in a "suspicious" fire. The day before, three children belonging to her friend also died in a fire 50 miles away. In 1980, her infant son supposedly died of SIDS. Then in 2006, a toddler drowned while Shirley was in the house.
When investigators finally exhumed the bodies, they discovered the truth: the children had been beaten before the fire was set. The infant had been smothered. And Shirley Winters had been killing for nearly 30 years.
She was released from prison in May 2024.
