Follows Juan Salvo along with a group of survivors as they battle an alien threat that is under the direction of an invisible force after a horrific snowfall claims the lives of millions of people.
Here's a selection of the 200 VFX shots delivered by CONTROL Studio for the Argentine sci-fi series The Eternaut, produced by K&S Films for Netflix.
CONTROL Studio joined the project during the 2020 pandemic, establishing a photogrammetry-based workflow to scan locations across Buenos Aires and digitally cover them in snow. In collaboration with K&S Films, a dedicated Virtual Art Department was formed—led by Ignacio Pol and Pablo Accame—which created over 30 virtual backgrounds based on real locations. These were shared with all VFX vendors for set extensions throughout the show.
CONTROL Studio supervised the Virtual Production for all ICVFX shots on the giant LED walls at Cacodelphia Studios, and also handled on-set VFX supervision for several key scenes. During post-production, the studio worked closely with director Bruno Stagnaro, cinematographer Gastón Girod, and production designer María Battaglia to technically supervise the VFX shots delivered by vendors across the globe.
Together with the in-house K&S team, CONTROL Studio—under the supervision of Nicolas Gonzalez—completed nearly 1000 VFX shots using Unreal Engine as the primary renderer, pioneering a real-time workflow that influenced the entire VFX pipeline of the series.
