This video/slide show was compiled by me in 2012 and updated in 2014.
The photographs show here are of a section of rail line between Cowra and Young in NSW. This line was badly damaged by a flood in 2010.
The entire line runs from Blayney down to Demondrille - a distance of approximately 170 kilometers.
Although the line was disused, at the time of the flood, there were plans to reopen the entire line.
Now the cost of reopening it again will be huge, given the damage from the flood and long term deterioration.
As you will see from the photographs, this was a fierce flood and the destruction it caused to the railway infrastructure was mind boggling.
