The polymer linear bearings on my Magnetic IDEX have finally given up. After hitting high speeds and accelerations, the ones closest to the heated bed developed serious slop → massive ringing on prints. Time for a change.

Instead of jumping straight to heavy MGN rails, I designed a brand-new ultra-light custom carriage that uses only 5 × 10mm ball bearings on the original precision linear rods.

Result?
✅ Zero play in every direction
✅ Completely silent & buttery smooth
✅ Only 19 grams (MGN-12 carriage is 52g+)
✅ Works perfectly on aluminum, steel, or Igus rods
✅ 4 bearings in a 60° V + 1 preload bearing = rock-solid
