The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era | Shelfside Review w/ Valenwood Expansion @Shelfside

We finished multiple campaigns of this popular IP becoming a board game! This Chip Theory games production (partnered with Bethesda) is about customization a character and dungeon crawling through a 3 session campaign (about 10 hrs). It's in Tamriel's second era, as you can go from Skyrim to Morrowwind. The hexes for combat remind us of Gloomhaven, yet this game's skill and combat system is much different, it's more like Too Many Bones! As you go through your choose-your-own-adventure with the Gazeteers, what will happen as you fight against the nefarious Deslandra? How does the game hold up to multiple approaches? Is it worth the Gamefound tabletop back, or should you just wait for the second edition or more expansions?

There’s board game cafes (Game Parlour & Victory Point Cafe), then full on gaming stores like Game Kastle. Some places are free to demo games, whereas others might have a rental program! We also try out some drinks and board game themed food during this one-day road trip! No kidding, its from San Jose all the way to Oakland, then Novato, then back before midnight! There’s popular games like Root and Heroquest shown, but also older classics like Monopoly (and we’re watching out for Catan!).
